“Proving that love can last, one relationship at a time.”

Craig is a thoughtful, compassionate marriage counselor in San Diego who has spent the last three decades helping couples to rekindle their love, deepen their intimacy and strengthen communication. Couples counseling doesn’t require years before improvement begins; most couples that both Craig and Debbie work with report a sense of relief and clarity within a few sessions. Using practical and powerful strategies and exercises, Craig will help you get to the heart of communication issues, replacing old patterns with new ones so that you can both feel heard—and loved.

Craig’s Approach

I’ve trained in many types of couples therapy and personalize our sessions to meet your specific needs. In daily practice, I draw from the work of renowned therapists and authors Dr. Harville Hendrix and his wife Dr. Helen LaKelly Hunt (Imago Relationship Therapy), Dr. John Gottman (The Gottman Method), Dr. Sue Johnson (Emotionally Focused Therapy), Terry Real (Relational Life Therapy), Esther Hicks (The Law of Attraction) and Debbie Lambert’s The Ladder of Love.

My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in psychology from NYU and a Master of Social Work from San Diego State University. I began work as an independent psychotherapist in 1989 and have been licensed as a clinical social worker since that time. I am certified as an Imago Relationship Therapist, have completed all training in The Gottman Method and an externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy.  In addition to my professional training, I’ve been practicing yoga and meditation for over 35 years.

In couplehood, conflict can hinder not only our personal growth but also our relationships. My goal is to gently guide you through that conflict to ensure that you emerge as healthier and more fulfilled individuals, living up to your full potential as a happy, loving couple.
